HIRAM, Ohio - October 26, 2019 - The Hiram College women's soccer team celebrated six seniors in their matchup against Kenyon College on Saturday night, but fell, 2-1, to the Ladies.
Before the evening's matchup, Hiram honored six seniors who played their last game at Charles A. Henry Field. The seniors included Ally Green, Miranda Stassinis, Lauren Caldwell, Kaitlyn Morse, Emma Kovach, and Val Lauderback.
Hiram held the Ladies scoreless for the first thirty minutes of action, until Kenyon's Samantha Hayes took the 1-0 lead.
The Terriers would respond with a shot by Stassinis in the 44th minute but it was saved by Kenyon's goalie Jillian Countey.
Fresh out the break, junior Courtney Wendel scored the lone Hiram goal of the night to tie the game, 1-1.
The remaining frame was played to a stalemate until Maddie Ladd hit the back of the Hiram net in the 87th minute to cement the 2-1 win.
Despite taking the loss, Green finished with her seventh double-digit save performance of the year.
Hiram will hit the road on Tuesday, October 29 to take on Denison in Granville, Ohio. The matchup is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. start.
