Hiram Women’s Soccer Drops Road Contest at Bluffton

BLUFFTON, Ohio – September 15, 2019 The Hiram Terriers women's soccer team fell to the Bluffton University Beavers, 1-0, on Sunday at Alumni Field, dropping to 1-5 on the season.

The Terriers outshot the Beavers, 10-9, in the first half, but both goalkeepers kept the scoring at bay.

Ally Green made one save in the first half, and three more in the second, but Maddie Huffman knocked one past Green in the 73rd minute off an assist from Stacie Bienko to give Bluffton a 1-0 lead they'd never relinquish.

While the Beavers outshot Hiram, 12-7, in the second half, the Terriers had their chances, including two shots and a corner in the final 10 minutes. But they just couldn't get one past Sienna Sullivan, who made eight saves in goal for Bluffton.

Hannah Ward led the Terriers with six shots, while Kylie Davis, Jaycee Ward and Kaitlyn Harris each added two apiece.

The Terriers will look to bounce back when they travel to Berea, Ohio on Wednesday, Sept. 18 for another non-conference matchup against Baldwin Wallace at 7:00 p.m. at George Finnie Stadium.
