Sept.14-HIRAM, Ohio- The Hiram College women's soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision to Kalamazoo, Saturday night.
Despite senior Val Lauderback posting a shot inside the second minute off play, the first half was a slow start for both sides with neither team scoring a goal.
Tied 0-0 fresh out the break, the Hornets made a move doing all of their scoring damage in the second 45-minute half.
Kalamazoo's Kai Ketola tallied the first goal of the night in the 58th minute of play before her teammates Julie Zabik and Josie Sibley posted a pair of shots to the back of the net to take the 3-0 victory.
Hiram managed eight shots in the game, while Kalamazoo totaled 28 shots and 16 scoring chances.
In goal, senior Ally Green paced the Terriers with 13 saves. Coming into the matchup with the Hornets, Green led the conference in saves (50) and second in save percentage (.820).
The Terriers will have a quick turn around and hit the field tomorrow Sunday, September 15. The matchup with Bluffton is scheduled for a 2:00 pm start.
