Women's Soccer Shuts Out Franciscan 2-0

Sept.7- STEUBENVILLE, Ohio- The Hiram College women's soccer team held the Barons scoreless securing the 2-0 win over Franciscan, Saturday afternoon.

This victory marks the first of the year for the Terriers, pushing them to 1-3 on the season. 

Sophomore Kaitlyn Harris scored the first goal of the game in the 13th minute off an assist from junior Hannah Ward

Hiram would post three additional shots in the remaining minutes, two from Ward and one from freshman Ashley Sandru but neither was able to score cementing the first half score 1-0. 

The second half featured a lone goal from junior Sam Minor in the 68th minute to stretch the Hiram lead to 2-0. Ward picked up her second assist of the night.

Despite Hiram being outshot 18-13 they kept the host goalless to take the 2-0 win.

Senior Ally Green registered her second game of the season with double-digit saves, finishing the night with 10.

Hiram will host Kalamazoo (Mich.) on Saturday, Sept. 14. The home-opener matchup with the Hornets is set for 5:00 p.m.
