HIRAM, Ohio- The Terriers dropped a 2-1 loss against the Denison Big Red on Saturday evening.
Hiram falls to a 3-5-1, 0-2 NCAC record, while Denison improves to a 5-3-3, 2-0 NCAC record on the season.
The Big Red got on the board first when Grace Murray beat freshman goalkeeper Ally Green (Stow, Ohio / Stow-Munroe Falls) in a one-on-one battle in the 30th minute. The score was 1-0 going into halftime.
Senior Abbey Rowe tied the match at one when she fired a shot in the 70th minute. But Denison answered back ten minutes later when Anne Denz found Sophia Beneroff, who connected with the back of the net to give the Big Red a 2-1 lead and secure the win for Denison.
The Big Red outshot the Terriers 9-5 during the match, but both teams had only two corner kicks.
In goal, Green played the entire match and finished with four saves.
The Terriers will return to action on Wednesday, October 5 at 7:30 p.m. when they face Rochester College (Mich.) in a nonconference matchup at home.
