The Hiram College women's lacrosse team dropped a 17-5 decision to visiting Medaille College on Sunday afternoon.
The Terriers were led in the stat sheet by lone senior Katelyn Slomovitz, who tallied three goals on five total shots. Slomovitz also added eight draw controls to her totals.
Other leads for Hiram included juniors Tayler Hall and Alexis Hirsch. Hall posted her first goal of the season while leading the team with five ground balls. Hirsch also notched her first goal of the year while taking four shots.
Medaille came out of the gates hot in the matchup, scoring the first five goals of the game. Slomovitz then notched her first before the Mavericks tacked on another.
The Terriers then took advantage of a Medaille yellow card as Slomovitz found the back of the net on a man-up situation to cut the game to 6-2.
Hall and Hirsch would tally two of the next three goals of the half as the Terriers cut the Medaille lead to four (8-4) with just under eight to play. The Mavericks would tally the final two scores of the half, however, and the visitors lead 10-4 at the break.
In the second half, Medaille posted the first seven goals of the half, before Slomovitz ended the run with a free-position goal with just under four to play, rounding the score at 17-5.
Hiram will get back to work on Wednesday evening as they travel to Ada, Ohio to take on Ohio Northern University. The matchup with the Polar Bears is slated for 7 p.m.
