Women's Lacrosse falls to Wooster in NCAC opener

WOOSTER, Ohio -- The Hiram College women's lacrosse team came up on the short end of a 21-3 contest in the conference opener for both teams on Saturday.

The Terriers see their three game win streak snapped and fall to 3-4 on the season and 0-1 in NCAC play, while the Fighting Scots remain perfect in 2016 with a 7-0 mark and a 1-0 record in league action.

Junior Kayla Jenkins (Solon, Ohio/Solon), junior Autumn Osgood (Hyde Park, Vt./Lamoille Union) and sophomore Sierah Ray (Tallmadge, Ohio/Stow-Munroe Falls) all scored a goal for Hiram.

The Fighting Scots scored the first seven goals of the game to jump out to a 7-0 lead 12 minutes into the contest.

The Terriers got on the board as Osgood scored her team leading 19th goal of the season at the 16:53 mark of the first half.

Wooster would score the final eight goals of the first half to take a 15-1 lead into the break.

Jenkins scored early in the second half and Ray added the final goal of the game with just over a minute left to play.

Sophomore Rachel Metcalf (Stow, Ohio/Stow-Munroe Falls) made 11 saves in goal for the Terriers.

Wooster outshot Hiram 36-9 and held a 17-8 edge in draw controls.

Hiram will be back at it on Wednesday, March 30, as it hosts Division II foe Notre Dame (OH) at 7 p.m.
