GAMBIER, Ohio -- The Hiram College men's and women's swimming & diving teams opened the 2015-16 season by competing at the Kenyon relays.
Neither squad scored points in the meet.
The team of senior Marian Bade (Macungie, Pa./The Perkiomen School), senior Rachel Patten (Castalia, Ohio/Margaretta), junior Emily Kelly (North Royalton, Ohio) and sophomore Meredith Fitschen-Brown (East Lansing, Mich./East Lansing) posted the top finish of the day, touching in 17th in 2:32.25 in the 200 breaststroke relay.
The tandem of senior Danny Essel (Euclid, Ohio), sophomore Julian Gilbert (University Heights, Ohio/Cleveland Heights), sophomore Jory Gomes (Elk Grove, Calif./Consumres Oaks) and freshman Reeve Bowling (Minneapolis, Minn./Thomas Jefferson) posted the top finish for the men's squad, recording a 19th place finish the 200-yard backstroke relay.
Hiram will compete in their first dual meet of the season, traveling to Mount Union on October 24. The contest is slated to begin at 1 p.m.
