Men's Lacrosse Beaten By Wooster

HIRAM, OHIO  --  The Hiram College men's lacrosse team was defeated by The College of Wooster, 21-0, in a North Coast Athletic Conference game at Charles A. Henry Field in the home finale.

Wooster (8-4, 3-2 NCAC) recorded its first goal of the first quarter at the 14:12 minute mark to grab the early lead.  The Fighting Scots went on to add five more scores in the period to lead 6-0 after the first 15 minutes of play.

In the second quarter, Wooster continued to pull away knotting its first score with 13:26 left in the half to increase the margin to 7-0.  The Scots tallied their final goals of the half within the final 2:10 to take a 10-0 advantage into the locker rooms.

The third quarter saw Wooster find the back of the net six times to extend its lead to a commanding 16-0 heading into the final period.

The Scots posted five more scores in the fourth to cruise to the 21-0 shutout.  Hiram (1-9, 1-4 NCAC) had 12 shots in the game, but would not get any past the Wooster netminders.

In goal for Hiram, freshman Mike Malloy (Norristown, Pa./Norristown) started the game and played 45 minutes making six saves.  Fellow freshman Sawyer Lott (Sunbury/Big Walnut) came on to play the final quarter and had one save.

Hiram will wrap-up the season with a pair of road games beginning with a stop at Oberlin College on Wednesday, Apr. 17 in Oberlin.  The game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
